SEAMEO RECSAM Are you a mathematics/science educator, researcher or curriculum developer?
Do you believe in cultivating critical and creative thinking of your students especially in solving mathematical problems?
Are you interested in learning from an outstanding mathematics educator, hailing all the way from Japan?
We are pleased to invite you to the Workshop on Enhancing Creativity through Transdisciplinary Mathematics Education that will be conducted on 27 & 28 August 2018 at SEAMEO RECSAM, Penang, Malaysia.
This workshop will present exemplary methods to cultivate creative/critical thinking of high school students as well as promote their essential skills with exemplars on how these students became young mathematicians, engineers and entrepreneurs. The facilitator of this workshop is Dr. Ryohei Miyadera, a mathematics educator in Kwansei Gakuin High School, Japan. In his view, the best way to cultivate creativity/innovativeness is to give students the opportunity to engage in very original activities, i.e., to create something and to be involved in various problem-solving activities. This workshop aims to enable participants to enhance essential skills, be it thinking, technology or life skills through student-centred mathematical learning approaches supported by digital tools and e-platforms.
If you are interested to participate in the workshop, kindly register your details at the available link
We would be very grateful if you could share this invitation to your colleagues and network of friends so they too can have the opportunity to participate in this workshop. Do not hesitate to contact Ms. Jenny Ong (04-6522761 or
