[Announcement] Calling For Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Education Network (EDNET) Concept Notes Submission Session 1/2020 In Conjuction With Malaysia’s Hosting Year Of APEC 2020
Greetings from Ministry of Education Malaysia.
2. For your kind information, Malaysia is currently the host of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) for the year 2020. APEC 2020 takes on the theme “Optimizing Human Potential towards a Future of Shared Prosperity” focusing on resetting APEC’s agenda to its fundamental objective of achieving sustainable economic growth and prosperity in the Asia Pacific Region that is truly inclusive. In this hosting year, Malaysia strives to highlight people-centred issues to create a balanced and fair cooperation among the Economies through the implementation of programmes, projects and activities to achieve this agenda.
3. To support implementation of projects under APEC, the APEC Secretariat offers Project Funding under the APEC Education Network (EDNET) which can be delivered through activities e.g. workshops, symposia, seminars, capacity building and research that is in line with the APEC Education Strategy 2016-2030 (Annex I) towards bringing tangible benefits to APEC Economies in enhancing their policies and regulations or their institutional structures and processes. There are 2 sessions for Concept Note submission as mentioned in the application process (refer here), and for session 1/2020, all interested applicants may submit the Concept Note (Annex II) latest by 20 February 2020 to aswad.judin@moe.gov.my for further vetting by the Ministry.
3. All project applications ought to specify the most targeted APEC Project fund sources (refer here) and identify the most relevant APEC forum- including APEC Sub-Committees, Experts' Groups, Working Groups and Task Forces (refer here). A sample of successful Concept Note (Annex III) is attached for ease of reference.
